Handy stuff sack bags

I reckon these things are so bleedin' handy. Stuff sacks. You can stick anything in them.

Pretty cheap too, and sooo enviro-friendly it's not humorous at all.

Cheap place to get crazy coloured one's.....

they'd probably make a mono-color one if you asked 'em.

Ok, the little shop might be ever so related to this blog. Can't afford the advertising, spent all my money on stuff.

Peace - By John Lennon

This is a great short interview with John Lennon. Meself, I find the pictures a bit distracting, a great to listen to.

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message.

Coming soon....How Good Are These Pants

They almost have cupholders.

Scooters

Two years and 2 posts on the blog, things are going well. This one's a bit different, mechanised 2 wheelers this time. Went to the Canberra 2008 Scooter Italia show and spotted this classic scoot. This is a machine that will carry your sandwiches and so much more.
It's a Model E Lambretta. A full write up here, http://www.lcgb.co.uk/scooters/e.html
Anyone know where you can buy these please let me know. Hopefully no time machine required.

DIY Bike Rack

If you're like us and live in a tiny flat with lots of bikes maybe this will help.

We built this rack for 4 bikes. It's easy to grab any bike and takes the same floor space as 4 bikes if they were all leaning against the wall on top of each other. The difference is, when they're all leaning against the wall you always seem to want the bike at the back!

Its dimensions are 190 cm high 135 cm wide. Feet make it 120 cm deep. The centre of the vertical beams is 30 cm away from the back end of the feet. The diagonal supports that keep it upright are 150 cm long.

It's intended to stand against a wall as shown in the picture. The wheel nearest the ground actually rests against the wall.

Materials: Dimensions of the wood used in the feet, virticals and horizontal beam 35 mm x 70mm. Can't remember what it's called in the hardware store but it's strong stuff. The diagonals are spare slats from a futon base. The bikes are hanging by general purpose plastic-coated screw-in hooks. Shelf brackets hold the basic structure together at the joints but the diagonal supports are the main strength. Wood screws attach the diagonals and shelf brackets.

Improvements:

It's pretty solid and has been in use for years without problems. You could add some extra diagonal bracing supports at the top corners to give it a bit more strength. I was going to do this but it works fine with no problems, so left it as it is.
